INFORMATION

Nikolai Bogdanov aka China Toy. An independent drummer and percussionist, who combines multiple styles – from traditional jazz and latin-american music to funk, trip-hop, jungle, dub and breakcore.

He has extensive performing experience, taking part in many diverse projects as a session musician. Apart from playing the drums, he also plays the bass guitar and performs as a nujazz and IDM DJ.

Since 2010 he is developing the CHINA TOY (8 Bit, chiptune, electro, glitch, low-fi) solo-project, where he creates dance music using a Game Boy Original 1989 console and LSDJ program. While constantly experimenting with the sound, he prefers primitive devices, which he refines with his own hands.
